dell'Arte Opera Ensemble Summer Festival: Voices from the Tower

A word from dell’Arte Opera Ensemble:

Our 2019 Festival celebrates the powerful presence, contributions, and leadership of women in opera from its very origins.  To bookend this story, we offer Francesca Caccini’s 1625 opera La liberazione di Ruggiero, the first opera by a woman, and the LATEST opera by women: Princess Maleine, by composer Whitney George and librettist Bea (Brittany) Goodwin.

Light Opera Of New York: Naughty Marietta

In Victor Herbert’s Naughty Marietta we experience a sordid tale of greed, hidden identities and love’s many faces. A Pirate in disguise as a Nobleman? A Countess in disguise as a Marionette? Love or loyalty? Greed or Truth? You’ll surely be enthralled and leave the theatre humming one of Herbert’s many famous tunes, whether it be “I’m Falling In Love with Someone,” “Italian Street Song" or “Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life."
